How to find a qualified Acupuncturist

When you are looking for an acupunctrist in the UK the safest thing to do is to make sure they are a member of the British Acupuncture Council, this is the main governing body for acupuncture in the UK, and as acupuncture here is not currently regulated by the government, this means not every acupuncturist out there has to be a member.

By choosing a BAcC acupuncturist this guarantees that they will be degree level trained for the minimum of three years. All members agree to abide by the British Acupuncture Council’s codes of professional conduct and safe practice, which set benchmark standards for the whole of the UK acupuncture profession.

Many health insurance providers will only cover you for acupuncture if the practitioner is a member of the BAcC.

This is why when choosing your acupuncturist it makes sense to look for one who is a member of BAcC. You can find your nearest members and more information on acupuncture here
