Treating Shoulder Pain with Acupuncture

We have had a lot of patients coming to see us in the clinic with shoulder issues this Winter and we have seen some great results.

Frozen shoulder is also known as Adhesive capsulitis is a very painful condition where the shoulder contracts and causes pain and stiffness in the shoulder making it difficult to move, it can take several months or sometimes even years to improve.

Trigger points in the subcapularis muscle can be released by inserting acupuncture needles, this can be extremely effective at eliminating shoulder pain and improving range of movement.

You can also do shoulder stretches that will help release the subcapularis muscle by doing the doorway stretch. Stand in a doorway and place both hands on either side of the door, at about shoulder height. Lean forward to give a nice passive stretch to the subscapularis.
